Welcome to the Certified Herald’s Course

"Mosaic Coat of Arms at Debrecen"

The use of heraldic symbols was first recorded during ancient times. Different symbols, pictures, and glyphs were used to recognize certain entities in battle and throughout the years, different heraldic symbols and coat of arms were recorded by local heralds (often the scribe or priest in the village).

It wasn’t until much later that heraldry became an official art and coat of arms were registered, fought over, and transferred as legal processions. In order to learn more about the origin and art of heraldry, the course is divided into the following lessons:

· Origins of Heraldry

· Shields and Designs

· Heraldic Beasts Devices

· Heraldic Symbols Devices

· Castles, Celestial, and Religious Devices

· Positioning and Marshalling of Arms

· Mottos

· Military Emblems

· Crests and Supporters

· Registering of Arms in different countries

· Right to Bear Arms and Uses of Coat of Arms

· Creating Original Coats of Arms
