"Tower Bridge, on the Thames River"
Course Description

Finding your ancestors in England is often difficult if they arrived in the United States before 1840. This course is not only designed to help you locate your ancestors in England, but to also become familiar with the different records that available once you locate your family within a particular county or 'shire'. We will learn to read records and do research in them from the late 1800's all the way back to the early 6th century and learn how the history of England affected the people who inhabited it.

Also, please be aware that source links are often given to GENUKI materials and then the material quoted as well. This is not intended to circumvent any copyright laws and is only done so that students who print the lessons for their own personal research use have all the material available at once. However, students are strongly encouraged to follow the links as there is often much more material available which is not included.

Instructor:

Diana Muir, Ph.D Professional Genealogist.
